CENTER FOR NORMALIZATION THROUGH ART

The Center for Normalization Through Art (CenArte) was born as the Foundation’s commitment to intervene with people with psychosocial disabilities or mental health problems for whom there are no adequate answers to their needs and reality, and that they can find in the dimension of the art and creativity an alternative, hope and valid therapeutic path.

The field of art, creativity and original creation, in addition to providing a valuable, positive opportunity with great potential for the therapeutic relationship, is an ideal space for the application of our socio-educational intervention model.

Likewise, and at the same level of importance as the educational-therapeutic intervention, the objective of social transformation is set, which necessarily entails the community’s attitudinal change towards people with psychosocial disabilities or mental health problems. This is intended to be achieved through objectively valuable artistic contribution to the community, and the creation of radically different and positive relational scenarios.
